Symbol Window command

The Symbol Window command opens and closes the symbol window pane at the left of the current file win­dow.

The symbol window shows a list of symbols defined in the file. The symbol window is only available if the file type has a parsed language selected. See: Symbol Windows .

 

Figure 4.3  The Symbol Window pane appears at the left of each source window and lists all the declarations in that file.

The symbol window can be sorted by using the Sort Symbol Window command, or by clicking the three sort­ing buttons in the toolbar at the bottom of the window.

Click the gear button to select the Symbol Window options. You can also invoke the Symbol Window Options command directly by mapping a key to it. See: Symbol Window Options.
